P2P is set to open our new shop, but we still need a computer for our database and record keeping. Can you help us out? We’re looking for a PC with XP operating system or newer. Monitor too please :,,)
Email and let us know if you have a one you’d like to donate–thanks! pedals2people@gmail.com
We only have room for 4 more women in our ladies-only bike mechanics class offered Wednesday, January 13th.
The class will be taught by local pro bike mechanic, John Gaz, and will focus on terminology, flats, chains, and basic maintenance. This is a unique opportunity for women interested in learning about bike mechanics in a comfortable, welcoming environment.
If you want to learn the basics, to know more about your bike and keep it running smoothly, or to talk more confidently and with more knowledge about your bike, then this class is for you!
Level 2, 3 and 4 will be offered Feb-April. Email pedals2people@gmail.com to register.
Wednesday the 23rd, we’ll be sorting and recycling at the new shop–1802 E Sprague. Come and join us. John and Ryan will be breaking into boxes, paring down the tires, and setting up the retail area. They’d love the company. 11-2. Thanks!
Our request for web help was promptly answered, and we’re lucky to be receiving help from TWO web gurus.
Thanks a million guys!!! John is no longer a grumpy troll.
John is going batty dealing with website updates. P2P has a fairly
static site, but even trivial amounts of HTMLing make John a grumpy
troll. I think John’s best holiday gift would be a web developer who
could maintain our site and make small improvements. It’s all basic
HTML stuff and a pinch of ASP to integrate the blog, but otherwise,
it’s a pretty low-key site for a web developer. If you’ve got the
skills and you can donate a few hours a month please contact us at: pedals2people@gmail.com. ”
What an amazing day. We had 17 volunteers to help us move everything, absolutely every last part and piece, to the new shop. And we were fast! You know what they say: many hands make light work. WOW. This was a big day for P2P.
A huge thanks to Justin, Ryan, John, John Henry, Nate, JP, Pat, Wes, Beth, Mike,Ben,Taylor, Joe, Travis, Drew, Bill and Jeff J.
If you have some old t-shirts clogging up your drawers, please donate them to P2P. We will cut them up and use them as shop rags in our new shop. Just bag them and drop them off at 453 W 26th.
Also, keep checking the P2P calendar for upcoming volunteer events, like this Friday (wink, wink, nudge, nudge)
A week from today, we’re moving the big stuff into our new shop. Please let
me know if you can join in the fun so we can figure out a plan. The
idea will be to have a crew up at the garage loading trucks and a crew
at the new space unloading. If you have a truck or want to help by hauling stuff in your cargo trailer, drop me a line at pedals2people@gmail.com
**Also, check out the work we did today, by clicking here. Many thanks to Mike, John Henry, Bernard, Tiffany, and Maddie!
