Pedals2People says Goodbye

Dear friends of Pedals2People,
Thank you for your continued support of our efforts to spread bicycle education in Spokane, for your gracious financial and shop labor contributions, and the fun rides. After 8 years and three shop locations, we are closing our nonprofit permenantely.

The remainder of our tools and technological equipment is now with Village Bike Project, longtime partners of Pedals, who carry on a similar mission by assisting people on bikes in African countries. We are in the process of allocating our funds to Spokefest in the form of a bicycle education grant.

Remember your helmet, and we’ll remember your part in building a healthy community on two wheels.

Yours,
Pedals2People Board of Directors

Heavy Hearts

Our thoughts are with Bo Snyder, dedicated P2P volunteer and avid cyclist. We are sorry for his loss and our love goes out to Bo and his family.

Board VP Position Open!

Bike passion runs in your blood. You follow nonprofits on Facebook and subscribe to national bicycle organizations’ email newsletters. You and your friends plan the next weekend bike trip or bike ride to brunch. You have either a law degree or CPA certification under your belt, and you want more people in Spokane to be empowered by riding and educating about bicycles!

These are qualities that we envision in our next Board Vice President, but they are not requirements.

We are on the lookout for our next Vice President to serve on Pedals2People’s Board of Directors. You will tag team with me and Team Pedals as we spread the love for biking in and around Spokane! Please submit a letter of intent and resume to p2p@pedals2people.org.

Cheers,

Annie

Slow Race is Slowly Approaching

port16a

Ok, so it’s still two Saturdays away, but we wanted to keep you informed….Here’s the scoop.

P2P will be at The Lantern Tap House between 12-3 pm Jan 17th hosting a slow race, and New Belgium Brewing will provide the prizes. Also, when you purchase a New Belgium Brew, our little bike org will get a portion of the proceeds.
We’ll bring the bikes. You bring your skills! You’ll need to…

1. Ride provided bike on the marked course.
2. Forward motion shall be provided by the muscles of the rider.
3. No part of the competitor’s body may touch the ground.
4. The bicycle must maintain forward motion at all times.
5. The bicycle must remain within the boundaries of the course.
