Thanks to these local businesses for donating coffee; their brewing expertise, cream, sugar and cups; and morning goodies: Roast House, The Scoop, and Lindaman’s.
We can’t wait to see you, Wednesday, May 20th, between 6:30-8:30 am at 25th and Cedar. Look for our orange canopy on your morning commute. Have a great Bike to Work Week, Spokane!
The 2013 P2P-Sponsored energizer station for BTW week was the best attended ever. Everything was calm from 6:30 am to 7:30 am and volunteers Tara, Liza and John were feeling a little down about the lack of visitors. But as soon as 7:30 came around, the cyclists came rolling in. We saw 8 cyclists pass us going down the hill, and 17 commuters, 4 elementary students, and several friends on bikes who stopped at our station.
We really appreciated the hot coffee–thanks to Roast House and The Scoop, and cookies–from Super 1 Foods, this cold morning. The efforts of the BTW organizers really make Bike To Work week better every year.
Enjoy the rest of the BTW events. Hope to see you at No-Li on Friday evening!
First of all thanks to everyone who came out and donated bikes to P2P at REI last Saturday. We hauled nearly 40 back to the shop! Special thanks also to our volunteer crew: Nick, Erika, Don, Paul, Jacque, Tim, Bernard and Bo. You all rock. Carol, the Outreach Specialist at REI, was fantastic to work with and very generous with the 20% off coupons!
In other news, we had a great morning with the Bike to Work Week folks while running the valet corrals.
Bike to Work Week Breakfast, where Founders meet:
Some bikes are better suited to the racks than others.
Mayor Condon had nice things to say about bicycling in Spokane.
Roast House Coffee was great, but MDC preferred Dutch Love on the day.
Even though no one in this photo is smiling; rest assured that somewhere, Kevin Parker is.
In any event, MDC’s words were well met by these  “Church of the Bicycle” Crustaceanists . They share a devout love of the Clownfish, a sub-deity of our “Almighty Lob.”
Look forward to seeing everyone at the wrap-up party hosted by Steamplant Grill this Thursday from 4:30 – 6:30.
We’ve got the racks if you’ve got the bike.
